C’est une peinture de bagarreuse.
Il y a entre les tableaux de Jacqueline Lipszyc et elle une empoignade sévère, un combat où s’établit un curieux mélange de violence et de tendresse, violence des volumes et des chairs martyrisées, tendresse des visages, des regards et de délicatesse des transparences.
Sur de grandes feuilles de papier, le pastel gras s’écrase, se superpose, se fond, et sous sa force musclée, donne une lumière intérieure, vibrante, silencieuse, pourpre d’un incendie primordial, vert profond d’une très ancienne origine aquatique, bleu d’un ciel fondamental. C’est une peinture de préhistoire, originelle sans afféterie ni complaisance : on ne rigole pas avec les couleurs ni les formes.
Il y a du Goya dans cette recherche d’un drame sans spectacle, un Goya qui aurait rencontré Egon Schiele. Peut-être le corps est-il le révélateur du tragique de la condition humaine… C’est ce qu’au travers de son travail, Jacqueline Lipszyc nous donne à comprendre avec cette énergie, cette fulgurance qui est le propre des artistes authentiques.

It is the painting of a fighter.
There is a deep row between the pictures of Jacqueline Lipszyc and herself, a combat where an odd mixture of violence and tenderness sets in, violence in the volumes and of martyred flesh, tenderness in the faces and the looks of transparent delicacy.
On large sheets of paper, oil pastels are smashed, superimposed, until they blend; under her muscular strength they give out an internal, vibrant and silent light, the crimson of a primeval fire, the deep green of a very ancient aquatic origin, the blue of a fundamental sky. It is painting of prehistory, primeval without indulgence, without pretense: one doesn’t joke with colors nor forms.
Goya is there, in the search for drama without show, a Goya who would have met Egon Schiele. The body may reveal the tragedy in the human condition... This is what Jacqueline Lipszyc gives us to understand through her work: the energy, the searing dazzle which are the characteristics of authentic artists.
